The Hello Kitty Themed 7-Eleven You Have to Visit in Taipei

On my first day in Taipei, I decided to take a stroll around my hotel to get familiar with the area. That’s when I unexpectedly came across a Hello Kitty themed 7-Eleven. As I later found out, Taipei is home to many uniquely themed 7-Elevens, and honestly, I think Taiwan takes the crown for the best ones. If you are a traveler who also happens to be a Hello Kitty fan, this is one convenience store you absolutely should not miss. Here is what you need to know.

Where to Find This Hello Kitty 7-Eleven

There are two Hello Kitty themed 7-Eleven stores I came across in Taipei. The one I visited is near Ximending Walking District (shown in the second map). Taipei is a walkable city, and with the help of maps (I personally use Google Maps when traveling), finding them is a breeze. Here is where you can spot them:

Inside the Cutest 7-Eleven Ever

With its iconic Hello Kitty design and a glowing “Stay Cute” LED sign by the entrance, the inside is just as adorable as the outside. Sanrio characters cover the walls and even the ceiling, making every corner photo-worthy. Like most 7-Elevens in Asian countries, you will find the usual snacks and drinks, but here they come with a charming pink and yellow Sanrio twist. I think it’s better to show you, so check out my TikTok video below.

Buying Your EasyCard Here

The EasyCard, Taipei’s public transportation card, can be used on public buses and trains and is usually bought at the stations. But did you know you can also purchase one at a themed 7-Eleven and get it as a special edition public transportation card? There are so many designs to choose from, and it was such a fun experience. I ended up picking the Pompompurin design for mine. These themed cards work exactly the same as the regular EasyCards, so you can use them anywhere an EasyCard is accepted. I used mine to easily get to different attractions around Taipei. Check out this blog for the top attractions to visit in Taipei.

Have you ever been to a themed 7-Eleven in Taipei or anywhere else in the world? Would you choose the Hello Kitty design or go for another Sanrio character? Let me know in the comments — I’d love to hear which one you’d pick!
